Jack Davis, FAIA will be awarded the William C. Noland Medal, the highest award given to a member architect, for his extraordinary achievements over the past several decades. The event is to be held at the Visions for Architecture gala on Friday, November 9th, 2018 at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

As a leader of academia in architecture, Jack Davis has had a huge impact on the professional community and on society at both the national & international scale. He has served as the President of AIA Virginia, Invited Member of the AIA Large Firm Roundtable, and Vice President of the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction. His vision of a collaboration of architects, designers, legislators, economists, and educators to improve the quality of life of all citizens of Virginia and to sustainably protect the environment and economy, ultimately reached influential contacts and lawmakers in 15 other states. Throughout his career, Davis has worked towards making a brighter future for the architectural profession and also served as the dean of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech for 11 years, with the program ranking within the top five nationally during most of his time here.
