The Ellen Braaten Media Award recognizes a graduating senior from either Industrial Design or Architecture who has incorporated design related media as a core part of a major project, senior thesis, or an overall body of work during their tenure at Virginia Tech.  Examples include the traditional materials of the School's history (pottery, printmaking, silkscreening, photography, etc.), but we welcome proposals with alternative media applications.

Students who are interested in being considered for the award should submit an 8.5 X 11 inch portfolio of no more than 5 pages (not including the cover) that includes an abstract of no more than 250 words describing the use of media in their work.

Submission deadline is 5:00 PM on March 29, 2019

Portfolios should be brought to Nora Stover, 201 Cowgill Hall.  Submissions from the Washington Alexandria Architecture Center should be mailed to Nora Stover, School of Architecture + Design, 1325 Perry Street, Blacksburg, VA 24061.

The award will be given to a student selected by a faculty member from Industrial Design and Architecture and Ellen Braaten.
