Last week, Kristin Washco’s 3rd-year design lab traveled to DC and New York on a brief but dense four day trip. The students were exposed to a range of works including public libraries, transit centers, museums, memorials, and theaters. Many of the students will be traveling abroad next year, so this was a wonderful chance for them to practice photographing and sketching their way through projects as a means to better understand details, materiality, structure, and spatial conditions.
