A part of what makes our school great is the opportunity to study-abroad during your fourth-year! Stella Shin, a rising fifth-year student, gave us a glimpse of her time studying abroad in Germany this past spring!

“This is a glimpse into my life as an architecture student on exchange at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). With international students comprising 40 percent of the student body, adjusting to student life was quite smooth. The architecture school is located in the heart of the city, surrounded by famous museums and tourist attractions. We were fortunate to have a studio on the rooftop as well.

As an exchange student, I received priority for student housing and was extremely lucky to live in the Olympia Dorf, a residential project built for athletes for the 1970s Munich Olympics. I had the privilege of staying in one of the bungalows, which I plan to paint before summer ends. The rent was very affordable, and the best part was living right next to the Olympic Park, where I can picnic and enjoy beautiful sunsets.

Munich is a unique part of Germany, rich in Bavarian culture, architectural landmarks, and close to remarkable nature, all of which made my study abroad experience truly special.”
