Amale Andraos Named Keynote Speaker for 2024 Career Day

We are thrilled to welcome Amale Andraos as the 2024 Career Day keynote speaker. Andraos is Professor and Dean Emeritus of Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP), and founder of WORKac, a New York-based firm that focuses on architectural projects that reinvent the relationship between urban and natural environments. WORKac has been named the #1 design firm in the US by Architect Magazine and selected as the AIA New York State “Firm of the Year.” Andraos is committed to design research and her writings have focused on climate change and its impact on architecture as well as on the question of representation in the age of global practice.
Andraos will deliver the keynote lecture at 4pm on Sunday, February 25 in Hancock Hall. There will be an opportunity for a conversation with Andraos the following morning in Cowgill 300. Over 100 architecture and design firms will meet and recruit our students at Career Day, which will take place at the Inn at Virginia Tech from 10am to 4pm on Monday, February 26.
