Last week, Professor Aki Ishida traveled with her thesis students to New York City to study buildings and visit architecture offices. In addition to studying neighborhoods, public spaces, and buildings in Manhattan, they took the ferry to Brooklyn and Queens to see a branch library by Workac and the Noguchi Museum located in the artist Isamu Noguchi’s former studio. The group received a warm welcome in the offices of Snohetta, Olson Kundig, and Rafael Vinoly Architects, where the students engaged in discussions with architects about design process, office culture, and career paths. Finally, before returning home, they made a stop in Connecticut to visit Grace Farms by SANAA.
