The 2023 CASA Mexico Study Abroad Program organized by Steven and Cathi House took a group of six multicultural architecture students on a tour across some of Mexico’s most beautiful landscapes and cities. The students were able to experience Mexico’s rich history and culture at locations like The National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City, the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon in Teotihuacan, the historic city of San Miguel, and many more.

Students worked on a single overarching project over multiple phases of development interspersed with quick charrettes on smaller projects. They each had unique assignments tailor-made to test and expand their skills in design, photography, sketching, and language. Students also had the opportunity to work in the CASA ceramics studio, learn to spin wool, and produce beautiful jewelry using beads and baubles. The session concluded with a huge CASA Celebration Party where over 100 artists, writers, sculptors, and visionaries, got to challenge each of the students to deeply understand their journey.

The CASA Mexico Study Abroad Program will have an exhibit of their beautiful work in the Cowgill Lobby from October 9th-11th.
