Student Adaptive Reuse Proposal: Buena Vista VA

Recently, students from Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture gathered under the market pavilion in Buena Vista, VA, to share their adaptive reuse proposals for the Old Columbia Paper Mill (Bontex site), a landmark with deep industrial and community roots.
Through models and boards, the students reimagined the site as a vibrant hub for innovation, wellness, and culture. Honoring its history while designing for the town’s future.
