Last week, students from Assistant Professor Kristin Washco's third-year design lab exhibited their work in the lobby. The exhibition included drawings and models from design projects executed throughout the year, including a 1:1 detail prototype, a listening pavilion, a performance hall, and a culinary center. The students also shared wall section assembly models from their Building Analysis course and photos and sketches from a recent travel trip to Maryland and New York. The work was curated to show the relationship between process and product, and to demonstrate the students' progression throughout the year. The design lab has focused on learning through making, engaging in critical discourse, and developing complexity through design intent. The design lab will hold final reviews in a few weeks to conclude a dense year of academic and creative development.
