This past week, over 120 first-year architecture students participated in their very first architectural design competition.

The prompt was broken down into three parts:

Monday: Construct a study of the intersection of three materials. Remain within a 12"x12"x12" bounding volume.

Wednesday: Refine a detail. Remain within a 12"'x12"x12"

Friday: Investigate the IDEAS explored in the first two iterations in 2D. Remain within an 18"x24" surface.

The jury was composed of Foundation faculty: Kathryn Albright, Edgar Garcia, Scott Gartner, Jessica Hernandez, Chris Pritchett, and Andrew Shaver. After thoughtful deliberation, the following students were recognized for their work in three main categories:
