Summer Foundation Design Laboratory Exhibition

The start of a new semester means a new exhibition in the Cowgill Lobby! This week’s exhibition presents the work of the summer Foundation Design Laboratory.

The summer foundation lab is an accelerated track for students transitioning to the architecture and design disciplines. The project presented in the lobby is a common curricular approach to the study of material and formal relationships in design. The project is a framework that acts as a continuously evolving scaffolding for the comprehension and experimentation of foundational design principles. This is achieved by changes in scale, material, and parameters to the constructs over the length of the course.
