AI Workshop
November 20, 2024
Last Saturday, Assistant Professors Dr. Luis Borunda and Dr. Sida Dai conducted an AI in Architectural Design Workshop that showcased the exciting intersection of technology and creativity in architecture.
The workshop brought together students from Architecture, Industrial Design, and Computer Science to explore the transformative role of AI in advanced building design. Through interactive sessions on generative visuals, design automation, and the challenges of designing with and for AI, participants gained hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools.
Guided by Profs. Borunda and Dai, students delved into AI applications ranging from foundational concepts like neural networks and generative models to advanced techniques for rendering and video creation. They examined how AI automates tasks like rendering and building performance analysis, while also pushing the boundaries of architectural creativity through deep learning methods.
Whether experimenting with AI-driven design tools or reflecting on the ethical considerations of AI in creative fields, the day was filled with thought-provoking exploration and learning.
Events like this remind us of the importance of fostering dialogue about AI’s role in shaping the future of design.
