FutureHAUS Summer Build

Building on research that began in 2010, the latest iteration of FutureHAUS explores faster, more affordable home construction using prefabricated, fully finished modules. Now led by Bobby Vance, assistant professor of building design, the project builds on his experience as project manager for FutureHAUS Dubai. This summer’s build served as both a hands-on learning opportunity for students and a testing ground for innovations the team will refine for the 2026 Housing Innovation Challenge in Charlotte, North Carolina.
