At the 2023 Virginia Tech OGIS Research Symposium on April 21, several students from architecture professor Miranda Shugars’ course “GIS for Designers” presented posters from their mapping-based research projects, while Shugars gave a talk about the applications of open-source GIS tools for design and contextual research. Two students from her class, Ellen Holt (B.S. Geography ‘23) and Tyler Mochizuki (B.Arch ‘23), received recognition for their research boards, earning third and first place respectively. Congratulations!
