B.Arch second-year students held their competition last week. The weeklong prompt was to design an observatory for the blind: an accessible, sheltered space which facilitates an immersive, non-visual experience of nature for the visually impaired. The site, at a lakeshore of the Burkeville Lodge in Burkeville, VA, is a vacation spot for the visually impaired to gather with family and friends.

After a jury discussion last Friday, four students were recognized for awards for their boards and models:

Mika Sun (1st Place)
Annie Potter (Honorable Mention)
Elizabeth Shull (Honorable Mention)
Justin Stange (Honorable Mention)
