lmmersive experiential learning is essential for students' architectural education. The School of Architecture is dedicated to off-campus educational opportunities. Chicago Studio is an established placed-based experiential learning opportunity for advanced-level students. The program's semester-long residency combines Integrated Design Studio with two allied required seminars - one, technology- and technical-focused, the other concentrating on professional practices. Many of the program's participants are international students who do not qualify for federal financial aid or domestic scholarships. 

The School of Architecture Chicago Studio Scholarship Fund assists students with demonstrated financial need afford this opportunity to study in Chicago, a city with a renown architectural legacy and vibrant architecture professional community. Scholarships cover the costs of urban housing, and program fees including Art Institute of Chicago membership, local CTA transit passes, and a few days of regional travel.
