Sara Saghafi Moghaddam

Ph.D. Student

Sara Saghafi Moghaddam is a Ph.D. candidate at Virginia Tech, focusing on the intersection of extended reality and design knowledge during the early stages of the design process. During her studies, she collaborated with the Center for Human-Computer Interaction, ARIES Lab (Applied Research in Immersive Experiences and Simulations) at the Newman Library and the Center for Design Research. A recipient of the CAUS Student Initiated Research Grant and the Cunningham Fellowship, Sara has significantly contributed as a teaching assistant in design studio classes and the fabrication lab. She also teaches courses on 3D immersive technologies. Sara's academic background includes a BArch from the University of Tehran, an MArch from Milan Polytechnic University, and an MS in Computational Design from Georgia Tech.
