Chris Pritchett

Collegiate Associate Professor
  • Chair of Foundation Program

Chris Pritchett, Foundation Chair, is an educator who specializes in teaching foundation design, thesis design, and screen printing. As a printmaker himself, Chris has a passion for the temporality of the printed image, and he has a deep interest in popular culture and throw-away graphics. He is also an avid collector of ephemera and sheep (yes livestock).

In addition to his teaching work, Chris has collaborated with a design/build firm on a number of exciting projects. He is particularly interested in housing and Appalachia.

With a focus on hands-on, experiential learning, Chris is committed to helping his students develop their creative skills and explore their passions. He believes that art and design can be powerful tools for social change, and he encourages his students to think critically about the role of design in society.
