Joseph Wang

A founding member of the School of Architecture and Design, Joseph Wang joined the faculty in the fall of 1965. In his long tenure at Virginia Tech, he has taught courses on all levels of the curriculum and was the first Chairman of Graduate Studies after the founding of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies in 1964. Until his recent retirement, he taught third-year architectural laboratory and its related subject in building assembly. His research interests include Asiatic architecture, design education and methods, and Chinese landscape and gardens. His publications include two books, 6 book chapters and over 25 essays in professional journals.
