Marcelo Stamm

Dr. Marcelo Stamm has extensive experience in the philosophy of creativity and design, in continental philosophy and philosophy of mind. He studied in Munich and Oxford and worked in Germany and Australia prior to his appointment to the US in 2018. Between 2003 and 2010 he was head of the School of Philosophy at UTAS and research director at the Australian Innovation Research Centre, when he successfully attracted major ARC research grants. In 2011, Stamm was awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). At RMIT until 2018, he served as associate dean for Research & Innovation at the College of Design and Social Context, where he worked on the philosophical appraisal of creativity through constellation research and provided extensive leadership for large EU Commission ITN grants (Framework 7 & Horizon 2020) on innovative models of conceptualising creative processes across all areas of art and design.
