Luis Vélez Alvarez

Luis Vélez graduated from the Virginia Tech M.Arch II program in 2005 as the Top Graduate of his class.  He went on to work for various architecture firms such as HOK, Gensler, and Smithgroup, as well as joined the VT faculty in 2009, teaching 1st year design studio.  In 2017 he received the AIA Young Architect Award for his contributions to the profession and community at an early stage of his career.  Luis is currently building a practice in financial planning, continuing to advise architects and business owners in the construction industry on how to build a strategic financial plan.
