Integrated Computational Design and Digital Fabrication

This course explores the intersection of computational design and digital fabrication, equipping students with skills in parametric modeling using Grasshopper. Throughout the semester, students develop design concepts for an installation, integrating advanced fabrication techniques such as robotic assembly, 3D printing, and CNC machining. After refining their ideas, they collaboratively fabricate and assemble a final structure. This semester’s project is a 3D spatial structure featuring custom 3D-printed joints, demonstrating the potential of computational design in innovative construction methods.
