Professor Joseph Bedford has published a new issue of his audio journal, Attention, issue number no.8 of Attention, "Talking About My Generation." The issue was guest edited by Virginia Tech alum Tim Cox.

The issue examines a new generation of architects in the United States who came to prominence between 2008 and 2018 and who have developed a unique approach to architecture that eschews high performance in favor of an aesthetics of informality.

It brings together the voices of 33 young practitioners within this generation, including: Curtis Roth, Andrew Holder, Michael Meredith, David Eskenazi, Michael Young, Kyle Reynolds, Kyle Miller, Hans Tursack, Katie Macdonald, Kyle Schumann, Jaffer Kolb, Kelly Bair and Kristy Balliet, Bryony Roberts, Meredith Miller, Anna Neimark, Neyran Turan, Michelle Chang, Ashley Bigham, Erik Herrmann, Jerome Haferd, Clark Thenhaus, Paul Preissner, Stewart Hicks, Brittney Utting, Daniel Jacobs, Mira Henry, Matthew Au, Jimenez Lai, McLain Clutter and Cyrus Peñarroyo, Andrew Kovacs, and Jon Lott.

Together, they discuss topics ranging from generations and genealogies, to the aesthetics and politics of their work, their relationship to ideology, theory, and the discipline, and the relationship between academia and practice.
