Project 03: Media Center builds on the ideas explored in P01_Framing Folie and PO2_Itinerant Theater, continuing the investigation into how we see and experience space and media. This project challenges traditional ways of seeing and performing by proposing a building that supports new forms of media engagement.

Located in downtown Roanoke, the Media Center acts as a catalyst for public interaction-activating surrounding spaces and encouraging artistic expression through unconventional approaches to media. Its architecture should reflect this exploration: rethinking the role of the viewer and the viewed (from P01), by incorporating flexible, adaptable spaces for performance and viewing (from PO2).

The Media Center sits on a site currently occupied by the Patrick Henry Parking Lot. This urban location offers an opportunity to transform a typical "non-place" (Augé,

1992) into a vibrant and meaningful part of the city.

Through thoughtful design, the Media Center should reactivate this underutilized site, encouraging public engagement and redefining how media and architecture interact within the urban fabric.
